From Laura Kaye:
Hey everyone! I’m super excited to share an excerpt from my upcoming Bound to Submit, the first official book in my brand new and super hot Blasphemy series! I’m excited about this one for so many reasons—because writing this series is such a guilty, fun pleasure, because the heroine in this book is a kick-ass veteran amputee, and because I love writing the brotherhood between the Doms at this club. I hope you enjoy Blasphemy, too! So here’s a little taste of the battle of wills coming in Bound to Submit – enjoy!
EXCERPT:
After five years, Kenna Sloane stood in front of him. Only, something was different about her now. Restrained, even. Griffin studied her for a long moment. She held her position beautifully, as she always had, with her posture perfect and her feet spread and her arms folded behind her back. The blond hair was different. In the year they’d played together, he’d rarely seen it her natural color, and he grew to enjoy the surprise of how she’d change for him, liking a butterfly ever transforming anew.
But that wasn’t what was tripping his internal alarms. He focused on her face. There. The cool distance in her eyes. The careful neutral of the expression. This was a woman who’d fearlessly and sometimes brazenly worn her emotions on her sleeves. A woman whose feelings he’d seen in her revealing eyes long before she’d voiced them all those years ago. But now, only her mouth dropping open revealed some little chink in her carefully crafted armor.
She was still stunningly beautiful, though. Breathtaking.
“It’s good to see you after all this time, Kenna,” he finally said in what amounted to a monumental understatement.
“Master Griffin,” she said, her voice as cool as her expression. When had Kenna ever been so reserved with him? Since you rejected her?
The truth of that launched a sinking feeling in his gut that he kept from being reflected on his face. “Have you moved back to Baltimore or is this just a visit?”
She frowned and her eyes searched his, like the question had surprised her. “Oh, uh, yes. I moved back.”
“I see,” he said, letting his gaze wander. Down the slender column of her throat. Lingering on the beautiful plunging neckline of her bodysuit. Over her long, toned legs. His hands itched for some rope. His mind raced with the patterns he wanted to make on her naked skin. His ears strained to hear the throaty, gasping moans she’d release as he bound her tight and sure and irrevocably to him. The desires made him hard for her. “Then welcome home.”
“Thank you, Sir,” she said quietly.
He wanted to grab her by the arms, shake her, embrace her. Something to elicit some of the old passion. But he’d lost the right to expect that from her, hadn’t he?
So what did she want?
“So, did you want—”
“Master Griffin, can we—”
They both chuckled at speaking at the same time, but the awkwardness was evident in the sound of his laugh and the expression on her face. He hated it, how out of sync they were after once being so well matched that Griffin kicked himself every day for letting her go. He knew how rare that was, and he hated himself for not seeing it then. Not cherishing it, as he should’ve.
“Kenna, are you here to talk or play tonight?”
“Both, Sir,” she whispered.
He tilted his head. “And, were you hoping to do those things with me?” He couldn’t assume, not after everything. But his body was like a rope pulled taut in anticipation of her answer.
She licked her lips, and Griffin felt it everywhere, because the simple action revealed that she wasn’t as unaffected as she was putting on. “Yes, Sir. If you’re available. And, uh—” Her shoulder moved in a tiny nervous shrug. “—interested.”
Relief and heat flooded through his veins. Kenna Sloane was here for him, after all this time. He leaned in and put his face next to hers, his mouth near her ear. “Oh, little Kenna, I’m fucking interested, all right.”
The goosebumps that sprung up on her face where their skin touched felt like victory. She wasn’t unaffected at all. But he’d let her have this reserve. For now.
He pulled back and nailed her with a stare. “Now, let’s go have that talk.”

“A searingly sexy story with some of the hottest scenes I’ve read in a long, long time. Laura Kaye shows her mastery of the BDSM world. I’m eagerly anticipating more in this bold new series!“
~ Cherise Sinclair, NYT Bestselling Author of the Masters of the Shadowlands Series
“Smoldering and sexy, Laura Kaye’s Blasphemy series is everything I look for in a romance. Haunted heroes and strong heroines populate this one of a kind club and I can’t wait to see the big bad Doms fall one by one.”
~ Lexi Blake, NYT Bestselling Author of the Masters and Mercenaries Series

ARC Review: Melody of Truth by Nicole Simone
Melody of Truth (Love of a Rockstar #3) by Nicole Simone
Date of Publication: July 28, 2016

MELODY
The sexy as sin Marco, a man I never thought would be mine, asked me Melody Carmichael to marry him.
Two months before I became a Mrs., a job opportunity to film a documentary about rock n roller, Matthew Lee and his band, presented itself. My swirling doubts compelled me to pack a bag and spend two months on a tour bus. While I expected it to be a wild ride, I had no idea, my life, as I knew it, would never be the same.
SEAN
I had lost everything, my wife, my dog and my house within a blink of an eye. Without my career as a drummer for solo artist/best friend, Matthew Lee, I would have been adrift in the rocky seas, drowning underneath mounds of legal work and divorce proceedings.
Our upcoming tour was my opportunity to regain my focus but that was before, I found out documentary filmmaker, Melody Carmichael, would be capturing our every move. With her fire engine colored lips, raven black hair and a figure reminiscent of a 1950’s pin-up model she evoked dirty daydreams with a single glance.
As the professional lines between us blur, I make it my mission to prove to Melody putting your heart on the line is the greatest risk worth taking.

Sean is a super sexy drummer who has just gone through a terrible divorce. Commitment is the last thing on his mind until an intense attraction stops the man in his tracks.
Sexy rock stars, sexual tension and a woman that likes to live on the edge. All the makings of a great rocker story. Sean and Melody fight an attraction while developing a bond neither one saw coming. Testing and frustrating each other to no end and as they fight the chemistry and attraction that they can’t stop. Nicole Simone keeps readers going with baited breath as we watch two stubborn people realize they are the best thing for one another. Fun characters and a good storyline make for a scorching read.

ARC Review: A Santini’s Heart by Melissa Schroeder
A Santini’s Heart
Melissa Schroeder
Santini Series, book
Harmless Publishing
August 30, 2016
Carlos Santini has seen the worst of war first hand. After leaving the Marines, he decided to open a therapy ranch. If he can’t fight anymore, he wants to help those who have served and who are still serving. Everything is fantastic, but for one little issue, his assistant, Tia Mendoza. The woman is bossy, sarcastic, and so hot he can barely keep his thoughts straight around her.
Tia loves the work she does with Carlos. She thrives helping other veterans like her brother. Of course, working for a man like Carlos isn’t easy. He has a hot temper and he is so sexy when he loses it. She can’t help but test him, until the day she pushes him too far.
Carlos knows from that first kiss that Tia is the woman for him. But, before they can have that Santini HEA, they find the ranch they both love in danger from some very bad men. As the threats grow deadly, Carlos realizes that before he can claim his woman, he will have to do everything in his power to save not only the ranch they both love, but also Tia’s life

5 Stars
Carlos Santini has been to hell and back. A retired Marine suffering from PTSD, mad at the world and everything in, found some peace and solace at an equine therapy ranch. With hard work, The companionship the horses gave and the sheer determination of proving his ball busting trainer wrong, Carlos found a way to not be so mad at the world and joy life again. Even if he’s bossy and grumpy.
Tia Mendoza has to be one of my favorite female characters that Melissa has written. She’s hard and sassy. She takes no crap and will just dish it out 10 times harder than you can. Tia is also giving, caring and independent. Losing her brother has been very hard on Tia, causing this fiery woman to lose some of her sass. Fighting an attraction while fighting depression has this ball busting woman on edge.
There is nothing like watching the moment when a Santini realizes they have falling in love. Big, hard, alpha men who put their lives on the line, stumble when their heart skips a beat and stop in their tracks almost dumbfounded. Carlos is no different than his brothers or cousins when it comes to Tia. These two tangle each other up like no other. They also have the ability to help heal each other in ways no other could. Their cheeky banter and snarkiness add to the inevitable that they’re trying to avoid. Their chemistry and attraction is off the charts sexy and hot. It also contains a deep emotional healing that you feel coming from the pages. What better way to heal than with the love of a Santini!
A Santini’s Heart is an emotional ride leaving you breathless for a cowboy!

RELEASE BLITZ: Torn by Carian Cole
I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts. My debut series, Ashes & Embers, follows the lives of rock band members as they find, and sometimes lose, the loves of their lives.
Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.

Once more, the crew of The Divemaster will do what it takes to protect their own. Especially Tosin, who realizes Kahori’s heart just may be his home.

4.5 Stars
Going Deep is hot, exotic and wickedly naughty.
Tosin is my favorite of the Divemasters. In a group of laid-back man, he is the most laid-back of them all. I love his go with the flow attitude, his continued flirtatious manner and his commanding but fun and playful nature. He is the ultimate bachelor.
Kahori is an amazing artist and native to Cook Islands. A woman who has traveled a bit, but stays on the island for family. A sweet, kind and caring woman with an inner vixen who gets roused up beautifully.
Kahori and Tosin were made for each other. I loved how they both stumbled over themselves upon meeting. I loved how the suspense of the book intertwined so much with Tosin and Kahori getting to know each other. Their relationship does happen quickly, however the events surrounding the two of them are eye-opening causing the emotions and passion to flow.
Jayne Rylon gave readers something very special with the DIVEMASTERS series. Ending the series on a very high note. Giving readers a glimpse of what life is like for everyone on board the Divemaster. Awesome Alpha heroes and they’re amazing women, fun secondary characters, beautiful settings and suspenseful stories that are filled with page turning passion.
I read Going Hard in one sitting. Although I was sad to finish the last few pages Tosin and Kahori story, along with the rest of the Divemaster crew, I was more than satisfied with the ending.

ARC Review: Shield My Heart by Laramie Briscoe

Heaven Hill MC Series, Book 9
The Heaven Hill MC has always been a safe place for Mandy Walker. Since being adopted by their President, she and her twin brother have been able to count on them for anything. The ragtag group of men and the women who love them became the family the twins never had.
Having grown up under their protection, she’s finding it hard not to run to them with the problems she has now. One reckless night with her love of more than ten years resulted in one positive pregnancy test.
The problem?
Mandy is faced with a dilemma she never thought she’d fall victim to. Being a single mother, just like her mom was until Liam Walker came into their lives.
Best Friend
Member of the Heaven Hill MC
Terrified of not breaking the cycle of his childhood
Dalton Barnett knew the moment he kissed Mandy’s lips as a teenager that she was the only one for him. Taking her for granted has been easy because she’s always been there. She’s the only person who’s ever given love to him unconditionally.
When a calculated attack devastates Heaven Hill, Dalton, Mandy, and their unborn child are at the epicenter. Dalton must make decisions to keep his small family safe. Before anything worse can happen, he knows he must shield their hearts.

I was gifted the first two books of The Heaven Hill MC series, by a dear friend after a weekend of late night book talk. With that being said it’s with bittersweetness that I write this review. Although I was not there from the beginning, it was pretty close. I have come to love this series and yes I’m a bit sad to see it end.
Mandy is a stronger woman than I gave her credit for. Falling in love back in high school and knowing then he was the one. Fast forward a decade or so, lots of ups and down, an unexpected pregnancy, and an MIA boyfriend has rocked Mandy’s world to the core. She dug deep and found an inner strength while falling apart. Mandy proved that she grew into a very fine woman who knows a good man when she finds him. Even if he needs a lot of work.
Dalton, until this book was not one my favorite people. His brass and ass like ways towards Mandy make him when to smack him upside the head. The man has kept a lot of himself lock away that you really don’t understand until he’s ready to let you in. Dalton is one of those people that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Although many of us will not agree with his actions, will assume where his mind is at and not understand his intentions, his heart is truly in the right place. Once the stubborn headed man opens up.
Laramie Briscoe has this wonderful way of writing real life moments into her stories. I felt like I was reliving many moments of my own pregnancy while reading Dalton and Mandy story. Love is not easy, it’s hard work and well worth it in the end. Mandy and Dalton loved, hurt, fell apart and in love all over again. Communication is always the key, these two had to learn the hard way before they can find their everlasting happiness.
The Heaven Hill MC series has become a series that I feel at home with. I was there from almost the beginning and followed it through to the end. Laramie Briscoe not only gave her readers wonderful books to get lost in, she also gave them a family to come home to. I also want to note the amazing growth in writing that Ms. Briscoe has shown throughout the series. Emotional depth, strong personalities, hard issues, passion, family and love, is delivered flawlessly making the reader feel right along with the characters they are reading. I am sad to see the ending, but give Ms. Briscoe my highest praise!

** Please note: There is no underage sex in this book. This is a romance. **

5 Stars
As an avid reader and reviewer talking about books is something that comes naturally. Every once in a blue moon a book falls into my hands that leaves me at a loss for words. Carian Cole’s Torn has left me speechless and fumbling to express an opinion that will even begin this book justice.
Torn is a beautifully written story that is eye opening and emotionally pleasing. Every preconceived idea of love, age and social acceptance is shaken up, put in your face and lets you see it for what it really is. The journey, not story, of love is never mapped out, life hands you unexpected and sometimes fate lends a hand. Torn is a romantic, emotional and sensual love story to the highest proportions. Don’t judge this book by its summary, its so much more!
Carian Cole has masterfully weaved and crafted a believable, romantic and makes you feel. With Torn, Ms. Cole has just give her readers her best book yet!
