There was no way to tell what time it was, only that it was still dark, much later when she awakened. Layne’s hands were in her hair, tugging her this way and that. His mouth owned hers as he situated her to his liking, stroking his tongue against hers. Never before had she been kissed like this—so thoroughly. Trying to catch her breath, she wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing her sensitive body to his. Since he had come back, she’d wanted this. She had all but thrown herself at him on so many occasions. Was this finally happening? Her stomach tickled as he moved his hands down her sides and stopped at her hips, fitting her body as tightly to his as he could. He ground himself into her, groaning deeply in his throat.

“Layne,” she gasped as he ripped his lips from hers, burying them in her neck. His breath was warm against her skin, moisture from his mouth trailed down the column as his tongue licked a trail towards her chest. This was all moving so fast; she wasn’t prepared for it at all. Her hands were on his head, and she gripped slightly, hoping to bring him to where she was, to slow things down. As soon as her fingers tightened, his body tensed.

Without warning, his hands moved from her hips. One hand pushed an arm up over her head, pinning her against the mattress, another came around her neck, squeezing tightly. She fought to open her eyes, and when she did, the person looking back at her wasn’t Layne. His eyes were so cold, glazed over, and his mouth sat in a firm line. He was breathing heavily, but it was obvious he was having a hard time realizing where he was.

“You have it don’t you?” he yelled at her.

She couldn’t answer, even if she had wanted to. The grip on her throat was too tight, too punishing. Jessica kicked with her feet, hoping to dislodge him, but even though he was no longer on active duty, he was in very good shape. He wasn’t overly muscular, but he was very lean and very much in control of his precise movements at this point. It scared her that she couldn’t take a breath into her lungs, and he didn’t seem to realize what kind of distress she was in.

“Don’t lie to me,” he yelled at her again. “I know you have it.”

Thrashing her head to the left and then to the right allowed her to get enough room to breathe, and when she did, she let loose with a blood-curling scream. Even that didn’t break the spell that Layne seemed to be under. Within moments, the door to the room burst open revealing Tyler and Liam.

Immediately, Tyler took in the situation and ran over to where they lay. “Layne, my man,” he told him as reached down and grabbed the other man by the waist. “Don’t fight me,” he yelled at him when Layne began kicking. Tyler’s muscles bulged as Layne struggled against him. It took everything Tyler had to hang onto the other man.

Liam scooped Jessica up from where she lay, helping to pry Layne’s hands from around her neck. “You alright?”

She gasped, inhaling deep breathes, rubbing the sore spot around her throat. “I’m good,” she heaved. “But I’m worried about him.”

Almost too sweet and the Rockstar of the MC,  newly patched Jagger will warm your heart with his voice. That sexy body does not hurt one bit. I have enjoyed read about Jagger and found him be a much deeper man that I would have ever thought. With an upbringing that was not of an everyday child, the love from the family within the Heaven Hill MC was all he knew.  Until he caught that breath taking waitress, Jagger didn’t know what hit him.

Bianca has a dream. One she has been working and fighting for for years. Shes strong, highly independent, more than able to take care of herself and will stop at nothing to make her dream come true.  As she is in the final steps of her education,Bianca stumbles upon two major bumps that could change all she has worked for. The good, feelings for Jagger make her want to feel more! The bad, a touchy feely guy at the bar who holds power to put her dream to end.

Bianca and Jagger have my favorite meeting of all the Heaven Hill, MC paring thus far. A funny moment with a stripper pole in a previous book.  Ms. Briscoe has again caught me in the web that is the Heaven Hill MC!  Book three, Losing Control show serious growth in both the series and the writer.

Ms. Briscoe beautifully transitions the darkness and healing of Meredith and Tyler’s story, into the playfulness of Jagger and Bianca’s. A fresh and sassy feeling that gives this couple a story that is both sexy and sweet! Funny, romantic and flirtatious, as Jagger and Bianca keep each other on their toes, they gain weight in your heart!

Losing Control continues to show the growth that Ms. Briscoe has made as an author.  Her talent for  character writing is shining through. Each one has their good and bad.   Where they share similarities in personality each one is very equine.  Giving each one that little something that makes me love them.
I was gifted an ecopy of this book from the author for an honest review!

I’m pretty sure I fell in love with Tyler Blackfoot in the first book of the Heaven Hill motorcycle club series. Sexy and mysterious yet this charismatic man, will keeps you guessing.  I’m not sure he ever truly answers a question with a true answer. Loyal, intense and deep, Tyler will make you heart flutter!  Ms. Briscoe put the heart of an angel with the vengeance of the devil in this man.  He is truly unique.

Meredith is a stronger woman than I first gave her credit for. I really did not want to like her. She is presented as independent woman who thought she was at the top of the world. A reporter and nosey by nature, she put herself in a place with the wrong people. She took the worst fall a woman could. She not only had to get her life back, she had to find her femininity.

I believe Ms. Briscoe found her true writing voice in Out of Darkness. I am not sure I can even put into words the amazing amount of growth I see for Ms. Briscoe from her first to second books in this series. Everything from the flow of the book to the emotions, were kicked up a notch. The depth of Tyler and Meredith is breath taking. Events of the book will draw all kinds of emotion out of you. She really allows the reader see what this family of Bikers are like on the inside and out. Out of Darkness is one intense ride. Hold on tight!
