Review: Love Another Day by Lexi Blake
Love Another Day
Lexi Blake
Masters and Mercenaries Series, Book 14
After a major loss, Brody Carter found a home with the London office of McKay-Taggart. A former soldier, he believes his job is to take the bullets and follow orders. He’s happy to take on the job of protecting Dr. Stephanie Gibson while the team uses her clinic in Sierra Leone to bring down an international criminal. What he never expected was that the young doctor would prove to be the woman of his dreams. She’s beautiful, smart, and reckless. Over and over he watches her risk her life to save others. One night of pure passion leads him to realize that he can’t risk his heart again. When the mission ends, Brody walks away, unwilling to lose another person he loves.
A woman driven to heal
Stephanie’s tragic past taught her to live for today. Everything she’s done in the last fifteen years has been to make up for her mistakes. Offering medical care in war-torn regions gives her the purpose she needs to carry on. When she meets her gorgeous Aussie protector, she knows she’s in too deep, but nothing can stop her from falling head over heels in love. But after one amazing night together, Brody walks away and never looks back. Stephanie is left behind…but not alone.
A secret that will change both their lives
A year later, Stephanie runs afoul of an evil mercenary who vows to kill her for failing to save his son. She runs to the only people she trusts, Liam and Avery O’Donnell. She hasn’t come alone and her secret will bring her former lover across the world to protect her. From Liberia to Dallas to Australia’s outback, Brody will do whatever it takes to protect Stephanie from the man who wants to kill her, but it might be her own personal demons that could destroy them both.

4 Stars
Emotional and Suspenseful – if the action doesn’t get you, then emotions will.
Love Another Day is the emotional roller coaster story of Brody and Stephane. I could not put this one down. Brody is a hard headed yet loyal alpha man. His confidence lies and his work and not in himself. Stephanie is strong willed woman who will willingly put herself on the line to save others.
Lexi Blake wraps readers into Love Another Day. I loved this story. There’s attraction, chemistry and a whole lot of action. Steph and Brody are uniquely complementary to each other. Both are unbelievably strong willed. Protectors and nurturers. Their connection is undeniable, even though it was tried. The amount of growth that both Steph and Brody experienced throughout Love Another Day just add to the depth of their tale. Personal demons, self worth and danger can’t stand in the way of connection like the one Steph and Brody share. A fabulous addition to the Masters and Mercenaries Series.

ARC Review: The Bridesmaid and The Hurricane by Kelly Maher

The Bridesmaid and The Hurricane
Kelly Maher
Capital Kisses Series, Book 1
Release Date: July 4, 2017
A one-weekend stand over a year ago, and now they’re coworkers…
Being a woman in TV is hard enough, but when the boss is trying to derail Radhika O’Leary’s career from behind the scenes, she has to make sure every aspect of her work—and her life—stands up to scrutiny.
Of course, the double standard is alive and well and Malcolm Jones, the broadcast meteorologist known as “Colm” to his friends and “The Hurricane Hottie” to his fangirls, knows that fame can hurt just as much as it helps. When Colm moves to DC, he’s excited to work with Radhika—her professional reputation is sparkling, and so are the kisses they shared that one weekend over a year ago when he was in town covering a blizzard.
But when Radhika is paired up with Colm for a project, all she sees is a looming storm over her carefully constructed career. Sparks still fly between the two journalists, and if they’re not careful, lightning might strike and alter the course of their lives forever.

4 Stars
Fun and sexy!
Kelly Maher did two awesome things with The Bridesmaid and The Hurricane. One, she gave a great character driven story. Two, in a short story, she gave the reader a wonderful look at the diverse culture that D.C. has to offer.
Radhika O’Leary and Malcolm “Colm” Jones are fun characters. Radhika is smart, funny and very good at what she does. She deals with more than she should, so she can do what she loves. Radhika’s strength is something to behold. Colm has the charm of a southern gentleman. He was nothing I pictured him to be upon meeting and that made me really like him. His personality is only second to his looks and kindliness.
The Bridesmaid and The Hurricane is a fun and flirty with intense chemistry and personality. Colm and Redkina are fun together. His persistence and her trying to stand her ground is priceless. I loved their interactions and banter. Their chemistry was amazing. Colm and Redkina truly complemented each other. I also loved seeing this relationship build. Kelly Maher has a great start to her Capital Kisses series with the Bridesmaid and The Hurricane. A quick read that makes you laugh and gives you heat. I am very much looking forward to see what some of these lovely secondary characters get themselves into.

ARC Review: The Catch by K. Bromberg

The Catch
K. Bromberg
The Player Duet, Book 2
Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.
But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.
With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything – Scout’s love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he’s never been able to overcome. The secret he’s never shared with anyone.
He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he’s hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

4.5 Stars
Wow, what a story.
K. Bromberg captivated me with a subject that I have little interest in and of story that had more emotions than I could have seen coming.
The Catch is a continuation of The Player. It is highly recommended that you read The Player to fully understand and enjoy The Catch.
Scout and Easton are both amazing characters. It’s rare that I can relate to both lead characters in a book on such deep level. Their trials and tribulations together and separate just kept coming at them. Through heartbreak, pain, devastation, anguish and joy they found a way to make the pieces fit. Ms. Bromberg doesn’t sugarcoat anything with Easton and Scout. The Catch is a raw, emotional and contains some amazingly deep passion.
The Catch hit me hard on many levels. If I go into detail i’m afraid I’ll spoil book. Let’s just say emotional complexities within the story are extremely well written, spot on and make you feel. Hard. There were moments when I had to set the kindle down because I could not read through my tears.
Ms. Bromberg’s The Catch is an emotional ride that leaves you with the best of feeling when you read The End. Ms. Bromberg totally gets my seal of approval!

ARC Review: Tied by Carian Cole

Tied
Carian Cole
Devil’s Wolfs MC Series, Book 2
He was the myth and the legend of our small town. But no one knew the truth… except me.
Me
My childhood was stolen by a monster. I’ve forgotten what love feels like. What happiness feels like. What hope feels like. I am numb.
Him
He’s possibly as damaged as I am. Maybe even more. Scarred just as much on the inside as the outside. Just like me. He doesn’t speak. He doesn’t smile. He hides in the woods like an animal. I should be scared of him. But I’m not. He’s the only one that has ever made me feel. And I want to make him feel, too.
Everything…

5 Stars
Exquisite, haunting and beautifully brilliant!
Carian Cole puts my heart through the ringer so eloquently with Tied. Tyler and Holly both feel as though they are broken beyond measure. Scars coat them both on the inside and out. Somewhat twisted and dark moments with emotions that cut soul deep. Raw, real and honest, to the point of chills and goosebumps while read. Damaged people who just want some peace and light in their life.
Carian Cole writes a story that you will feel. I have sat before my computer with my fingers ready to fire off an awesome review for this masterpiece that Ms. Cole has given readers, for too many minutes and can’t seem to find words why I can tell you is that, Tyler and Holly are two beautiful broken people that are written so real and raw. Their individual stories and their journey together will make you ache deep into your soul. The healing they blossom within each other is beautiful and magical.
Tied is not your average romance read. It’s a heartbreaking journey that will break you down, then build up back up again. Carian Cole blow me away once again.

Excerpt:
“Uh…” She gave up pretending to breathe normally, her neck ceasing to support her head. “Ky, please…”
And then she felt it. Tiny bites along the insides of her thighs, branding her through the cotton leggings. Slow, precise, just enough pressure. Commanding her neck to play ball, Bree looked down to find Kyler’s eyelids at half mast, his white teeth sinking in every couple inches, his own chest and stomach shuddering in and out, his nipples in tight points. At the sight, the walls of Bree’s core constricted and released with enough force to send a rattling gasp flying from her mouth.
“Kyler.”
“Bree?”
“Just…”
“Yeah.”
His double grip beneath her knees vanished, but before her legs could fall, Kyler was inserting his hips to catch them. One arm snaked around the base of her spine, sliding her forward and out of the machine…and then there she was. Legs wrapped around her ex-boyfriend’s waist, heart pounding, moisture pooled between her thighs, their mouths separated only by a matter of an inch.
“You wore that cologne on purpose,” she breathed. “Admit it.”
His grin flashed. “Guilty as charged and unrepentant as a sinner.”
Her gasp only widened his smile. “Bragging about sinning now, are you, Kyler?”
“You say my name all shaken up and sexy like that when you want me to kiss your pretty mouth.” Hunger made his tone sound like two knives sharpening each other. “I reckon nothing has changed.”

About Tessa Bailey:
Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.
Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.
She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

ARC Review: Inked Expressions by Carrie Ann Ryan
Inked Expressions
Carrie Ann Ryan
Montgomery Ink Series, Book 7
The Montgomery Ink Series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with the brother who keeps his secret and the one woman he shouldn’t want.
Everly Law married the love of her life and on the eve of giving birth to their twins, lost him in a tragic accident. Now she’s a single mother working overtime at her bookstore trying to make sure her boys have the life they deserve. Her life is busy enough without her adding dating a Montgomery. As past secrets come to light, she’ll need Storm more than ever—even if she doesn’t realize it.
Storm Montgomery has spent his life atoning for sins that only few know he’s committed. When he lost his best friend, he promised his widow that he’d always be there for her—even when she wanted nothing to do with him. But when a single touch ignites passions they’ve both buried deep inside, he’ll have to remember exactly who is in his arms and that taking chances might be far more dangerous than they bargained for.

4 Stars
Carrie Ann Ryan continues to amaze and excite with the depth, passion and heat that makes up her latest book in Montgomery Ink Series, Inked Expressions
Storm may just be the greatest man ever written. He’s kind, charming, incredibly hot and always willing to put others before himself. I have always wondered what lies deep within Storm Montgomery. Discovering the depth and compassion that this man holds is amazing.
Everly is equally amazing. She has had her life twist upside down too many times, yet her keeps her head up and moving forward. She has strength that most wish for. Her dedication and determination make her the awesome woman that she is dedication and determination make her the woman and mother that she is.
Carrie Ann Ryan mixes a bit of suspense with burning passion in Inked Expressions. Storm’s story is one I have been waiting for. I love him even more after experiencing his tale. Storm and Everly have known each other for many years. When his best friend/her husband dies, their world became forever changed. Linking them together in a way that was beyond friendship. As time passes and life goes on Everly and Storm discover that there’s more to them than they would like to admit but can’t deny. Storm and Everly have a winding road filled with healing, intense passion and journey that I couldn’t put down. If you’re looking for a read with heart and heat, Inked Expressions is the book for you.

ARC Review: More Than Need You by Shayla Black
More Than Need You
Shayla Black
More Than Words Series, Book 3
I’m Griffin Reed—cutthroat entrepreneur and competitive bastard. Trust is a four-letter word and everyone is disposable…except Britta Stone. Three years ago, she was my everything before I stupidly threw her away. I thought I’d paid for my sin in misery—until I learned we have a son. Finding out she’s engaged to a bore who’s rushing her to the altar pisses me off even more. I intend to win her back and raise our boy. I’ll have to get ruthless, of course. Luckily, that’s one of my most singular talents.
Sixty days. That’s what I’m asking the gritty, independent single mother to give me—twenty-four/seven. Under my roof. And if I have my way, in my bed. Britta says she wants nothing to do with me. But her body language and passionate kisses make her a liar. Now all I have to do is coax her into surrendering to the old magic between us. Once I have her right where I want her, I’ll do whatever it takes to prove I more than need her.

5 Stars
.
More Than Need You is raw and almost too real. This is not a book you read, you feel it. There is no denying the love Britta and Griff still have for one another. The hurt they placed upon each other is soul deep. Emotions felt by Griff and Britta are so vividly and beautifully delivered, the reader can’t help but to experience the rawness, determination and passion.
I honestly don’t think I can’t find words to do justice to More Than Need You. Griff and Britta’s journey is intensely heavy, emotional and sexy. I loved the vulnerability and healing. The way Ms. Black weaved emotions through music was not only equine, it added intimate moments with the characters and the story itself.
More Than Need You, the second book of the More Than Words Series broke my heart and put it back together. I don’t know what Shayla Black has done but I hope it never stops.

ARC Review: Middleman by Jayne Rylon
Middleman
Jayne Rylon
A standalone novel from NYT and USA Today bestselling author Jayne Rylon.
I don’t kneel for any man. Not anymore.
I had the perfect dominant boyfriend. Then Cortez left me to save the world.
After two and a half years lost drowning my misery in bad decisions, one man changed everything.
Rogan is the perfect submissive, who puts me back in control of both him and my life.
Until Cortez comes home.
Who am I? Cortez’s bottom or Rogan’s top?
Maybe I’m both.
Maybe I was made to be their middleman.

4.5 Stars
Tempting, healing and hot.
Middleman is an intimate and emotional story of three men who have love, lost, healed and learn to love again. Jayne Rylon blew me away with Middleman.
Let me start out by saying this is the story of a male ménage. Keeping an open mind can open your world to many hidden wonders. If that is not your cup of tea, now is the time to cease reading. ( To each their own, everyone is different and likes different things.) Kaden is a amazing artist. Cortez has given given himself to his country. Rogen is the perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. Life and drama cause the path to cross for these very interesting and intriguing men. Impacting each other in ways to intense to describe. Causing rippling effects no one saw coming.
Jayne Rylon takes the reader on an opened minded, erotic journey laced with emotions, intimacy and ecstasy. Three very different men find a way to make it work and love one another soul deep. Cortez, Kaden and Rogen are mouth watering decadence. There is no word the will describe the insatiable passion that these wicked men display. Middleman was a one sit, didn’t stop until I was done read. A thoroughly enjoy able to read.

Review: Hold Me by J. Kenner
Hold Me
J. Kenner
1001 Dark Nights
Evil Eye Concepts
My life with Damien has never been fuller. Every day is a miracle, and every night I lose myself in the oasis of his arms.
But there are new challenges, too. Our families. Our careers. And new responsibilities that test us with unrelenting, unexpected trials.
I know we will survive—we have to. Because I cannot live without Damien by my side. But sometimes the darkness seems overwhelming, and I am terrified that the day will come when Damien cannot bring the light. And I will have to find the strength inside myself to find my way back into his arms.

4 Stars
I truly adored this sweet and emotional visit with Nikki and Damien. Life is a delicate balance once you add children into the mix. Finding time for yourself, work and love can be taxing on the soul. Ms. Kenner does an amazing job of displaying the reality and depth of these emotions.
Nikki and Damien are so in love and devoted to each other. The flames of their passion have only increased with time and the addition of their family. I think many people can relate to Nikki’s emotional issues within Hold Me. I also love the growth Nikki has achieved for herself. And the fact the Damien and Nikki are combustible together is just a bonus.

ARC Review: Gabe by Leigh James

His Woman. His Family. His Company.
When the going gets tough, the tough get Alpha.
Silicon Valley billionaire CEO Gabriel Betts has finally found the happiness he’s been searching for—in gorgeous, brilliant fellow billionaire Lauren Taylor, the so-called reigning queen of the biotech industry. But when Chinese healthcare mogul Li Na Zhao kidnaps Lauren’s sister in a high-stakes game of corporate espionage, the world they’ve worked so hard to protect comes crashing down. Li Na agrees to trade Hannah for Lauren’s Paragon Laboratories and her help—onsite and in person. In an attempt to keep Lauren safe, Gabe calls in his security-industry professional brothers to help get Hannah back. But when the rescue effort stumbles, Gabe must pick up the pieces to protect the woman he loves…before she makes the ultimate sacrifice.

3.5 Stars
Leigh James knows how to keep a reader on the edge of their seat. A healthy dose of suspense with some twisted espionage makes for a good read. Gabe is a total alpha, all intent on keep his woman safe. Lauren is smart, strong willed and hard headed.
Ms. James starts read off in the thick of it and keeps it running until the end. Gabe and Lauren are both strong in their convection, fighting for what they believe and those they love. The two shared some very steamy moments and some nice banter.
Gabe is a continuation story for Lauren and Gabe. The book can be read as a stand alone. However I feel as I would have benefited from the story more reading the first. Ms. James kept this reader thoroughly entertained for beginning to end.
