Chapter One
The day I meet Isaiah Martin for the second time, I am running late. I pride myself on my punctuality, not to mention that my clients demand it, and I’m not paying attention to my surroundings.
I look at my watch again. Five minutes after. Shit. I scurry through the hotel lobby, making a beeline to the elevators. If luck happens to be on my side, I won’t have to wait, but the elevators in the largest hotel in Las Vegas are notoriously slow.
Will the stairs be quicker? I glance over my shoulder. The stairwell is located on the other side of the large open atrium. With my client’s room on the thirtieth floor, the elevator is faster, even if I have to wait. I turn back to the elevators.
And run right into a man standing in my path, overcorrect, and twist my ankle.
“Excuse me, ma’am,” he says in a soft, cultured Southern accent, reaching out a hand to steady me. “You okay?”
“Damn it!” My ankle throbs so much I’m not sure I can walk. I gingerly put my weight on the hurt ankle and curse again at the pain.
Suck it up, Athena. This is nothing. Think about what’ll happen if you don’t make it upstairs in the next few minutes.
“Ma’am?” Mr. Southern Gentleman repeats.
“I’m fine.” I tentatively move my foot side to side. “Just give me a minute.”
“Why don’t you come sit down and let me take a look at that ankle?”
“You a doctor?” Odds are Odds are he’s just your standard pervert wanting the chance to run his hand up my leg. Even if he is a doctor, I’m not about to let him put his hands on me. Not a wise thing to do, since it’s almost a certainty Mike will find out.
“No, ma’am,” he says. “But I think you may need to rest that ankle just a bit.”
“Really, I’m fine.” I put my full weight on the ankle and nearly fall over as the pain sparks up my leg. “Ow. Ow. Ow.Hell.”
He doesn’t speak again, but takes me by the arm and leads me to a bench near the elevators. His head drops down and he runs a finger along my anklebone. Pokes and prods me. “I don’t think anything’s broken, but you should probably stay off your feet for the next little bit.”
“Easy for you to say,” I snap. “You’re obviously not the one running late.”
He looks up and our eyes meet.
Warm caramel eyes. His thick, black hair is long overdue for a haircut and curls up the tiniest bit at his neck. His firm lips give way to a perfect “O” of surprise at the exact moment I recognize him.
“Athena?”
“Isaiah?”
He embraces me with a crushing hug. “Imagine seeing you here. How are you?”
My spine goes rigid, and I don’t return the hug. “I’m….I’m fine,” I stutter while my eyes dart around the lobby, trying to see if anyone’s watching me.
“I can’t believe it’s you.” He is oblivious to my discomfort. “Are you in town for long?”
I force myself to stop scanning the area and focus on Isaiah instead. A cold chill runs down my spine as I take in his handsome features. The last twelve years have treated him well. No longer is he the awkward teenage boy plagued by acne and thick glasses. He’s grown into the handsome man I always knew lay beneath the surface.
He looks at me in expectation. What did he ask?
I fiddle with the hem of my skirt. It rests just above the knee. “I live here.”
4 Stars
This book is one crazy ride. And nothing like I thought it would be when I started reading.
Athena is trapped in a dark cycle that repeated itself every day for ten years. When a friend from the past stumbles upon Athena’s world of darkness turns to danger. Trust in not something she can afford to give. The lines of friend and foe cross leaving confusion in its wake. And yet this woman finds the strength and courage to keep fighting a battle that shatters her heart and hopes.
I was truly amazed at not only this story, the depth of the writing is amazing. The flashback with current happening put the reader in tune with Athena. Emotional, heart breaking and raw. This one was truly heart clenching. I felt the despair, hope and pain. And loved the real heart felt passion that comes through in the end. A great raw story.

ARC Review: A Little Harmless Rumor by Melissa Schroeder
Melissa Schroeder
Harmless Series
Rumors are swirling about the fall of Sean Kaheaku, but he’s ignoring them. Six months earlier, he had his entire world turned upside down and he still doesn’t know what to do about it. He retreated to his home in Hawaii to recover and reassess what he wants to do now that he’s been burned as a security agent.
Now lovers, Randy and Jamie arrive in Honolulu to find the lover they once knew is now even more secretive and belligerent. He refuses their help, but they are both too stubborn to leave—especially since they sense something dangerous is stalking Sean.
As the three lovers spend more time together, old feelings float to the surface and the twosome becomes a threesome. Nights are even hotter than the Hawaiian sun, and all three lovers find the connection exciting and overwhelming. But, the trouble is still out there and arrives intent on destroying Sean and everything he loves—including Randy and Jaime.
Warning: This book contains three spies who like to play games in and out of the bedroom, hot m/m loving, more m/m/f loving, dangerous games, lies, a few misdemeanors, and love scenes so hot, even most Addicts will be shocked. There is also a group of Alpha males with badges who will have their own series, a heroine who knows how to handle her two men, and two men who know exactly what she likes. As usual, ice and towels should be handy to help you through the book.
Melissa Schroeder turns up the heat up in Hawaii with the hottest and latest book in her Harmless Series, Rumor.
Sean, Jamie and Randy, each commanding, dangerous and strong willed, yet so different they complimented and challenged each other perfectly. This M/M/F story is truly Ms. Schroeder’s finest. The love scenes are smoking, the emotions are deep and raw, and you feel the love coming from the pages. I will be honest, I don’t know what worked me up more the danger, suspense and twists of the plot or tantalizing passion that two Doms and a beautiful woman realize they were missing.
The suspense keeps you on edge while the wicked passion has the pages turning. A trio of lovers, a dangerous secret and paradise makes A Harmless Little Rumor the most intense and emotional book of the series. Leaving the reader satisfied while building up what’s to come next in Hawaii.

ARC Review: Too Hard To Handle by Julie Ann Walker
Julie Ann Walker
Black Knights INC. Series, Book 8
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julie Ann Walker continues her red-hot Black Knights Inc. series in rough-and-tumble Peru
“The Man” is back
Dan “The Man” Currington is back in fighting form with a mission that takes him four thousand miles south of BKI headquarters, high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. He’s hot on the trail of a rogue CIA agent selling classified government secrets to the highest bidder, when Penni DePaul arrives on the scene. Suddenly the stakes are higher, and keeping Penni safe becomes Dan’s number one priority.
And this time she’s ready
A lot has changed since former Secret Service Agent Penni DePaul last saw Dan. Now a civilian, she’s excited about what the future might hold. But before she can grab onto that future with both hands, she has to tie up some loose ends-namely, Dan Currington, the man she just can’t forget. And a secret that’s going to change both their lives-if they can stay alive, that is.
5 Stars
Penni is one kickass woman. Smart, can take care of herself and will to do what it takes. The chemistry she felt with Dan has kept her wake more than a night or two. Flying around the world and standing side by side in gunfights show just how brave, loyal and a bit crazy this woman is.
Dan has seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. A complex character who can break your heart one moment and have you in a puddle the next. Being widowed took Dan “The Man” on a downward spiral to the bottom of a bottle. Through the help of his brothers, friends and some chemistry on an explosive mission, The Man begins see life again. All Alpha and sexy to the bone, a second chance at love awaken Dan from the darkness.
Intricate weaving of danger, romance and suspense to a level that has the reader hanging on every word. My introduction to Ms. Walker’s Black Knights Series, Too Hard Too Handle left a very lasting impression. Yes, I know I started this series way in, however I was able to understand in this ongoing story around Dan and Penni. Emotional and sexual tension keep the reader’s heart racing as much as the action and danger on the pages. Julie Ann Walker drew me into her world of Badass secret agent bikers with one book! Now it’s time to go back to the beginning of the Black Knight series and get lost in this dangers world.

My first BJ Daniels read will not be my last.
Lone Rider is a reach and grab you, holy crap did that just happen and damn I didn’t see that flippin coming kind of book. BJ Daniels has taken every aspect of a great romance and puts it all into one book.
Lone Ride is thrilling adventure that will have you turning the pages to keep up. Perfectly written descriptions keeps the reader in tune with the surroundings and complex characters. The suspense will keep you on edge while plot twist add a whole new ride to the game. A must read for any Romantic Suspense lover.
BJ Daniels gave this reader a one sit read in a subject that is not a top pic. She made me a fan with one book!

Audio Review: Death Watch by Dana Marton
Dana Marton
Broslin Creek Series, Book 1
Audio version: 5 hrs and 54 mins
As the only person who can identify the most notorious hit man in the country, Kat Bridges is running for her life.
Murphy Dolan is in the Army Reserves, returning from his 2nd tour of duty, only to find a stranger hiding in his house. She’s scared spitless. He’s completely burned-out on violence. Neither of them has any trust left to give.
If the best of the FBI couldn’t protect her from the country’s most notorious assassin, does a burned-out small town cop have a prayer?
4 Stars
Kate witnessed a murder by highly wanted man, who even the FBI can’t protect her from. Sassy and cunning Kate goes into hiding in the town of Broslin. She is the kindest of people. Even with the danger that breaths down her neck, she puts the need of other above those of herself. Running for so long as worn this woman out, but trusting anyone is a danger. Loneliness does not suit Kate well. In walks Murphy. Changing everything all at once.
Murphy has seen and done to many thing at haunt him. Being a soldier does more to one’s being and body then one can understand. After being hurt in action Murphy comes home to his small town and a strange woman in his bed. Being a cop and a military man, Murphy sees there is more to her story and being a man she does things to his body.
High five to Dana Marton! Deathwatch is a great romantic suspense book! I don’t think I have read a book where the balance between romance, comedy and suspense is perfect. Kate and Murphy are great together and really make the book. Kate is hysterically funny! For all the danger on her tail, that woman will make you laugh. Murphy is protective and caring with just a touch of dominance which makes him almost perfect. The romance and suspense will keep you moving through this fast-paced story. I promise not only does the story deliver steamy romance, you will be laughing as well.
Talmadge Ragan does a great job of giving another voice to this book. The narration is flawless. You were easily able to distinguish the different characters voices. I also believe it intensifies the comic effect within this book.
I was given a complimentary Audiobook of this title for an honest review. Receiving a complimentary copy does not affect the outcome of my review.
