Sydney is an amazing woman. Strong, strong-willed, highly independent and damn good at what she does. She is a survivor. She has this amazing self-confidence not only in her work, her work ethic and just who she is. She’s worked hard to get where she’s at and she’s not gonna let anyone tell her what she can or cannot do. A woman after my own heart. She’s willing to put others above yourself and make sure justice is served. A damn fine woman, even if she is a bit hardheaded. Is there such thing as a dominant southern gentleman? If not well, Kade is the answer to that. Whenever he was on the page, it was like time stopped. Kade speaks with grace and manors. Delivering his message with the commanding dominance that shows the power and respect he has earned with his age. Kade is sexy, sophisticated it’s like his presence put you in a trance. Very easy to get lost into the dangerous man. I very much enjoyed reading Kade.I read this book on the recommendation of fellow Book Obsessed Chick and friend, Janet. I was in no way letdown. when I read this book it was like time stopped. I was amazed at how I got lost in the story. Kade and Sydney are fantastic, both together and apart. Strong personalities and amazing story line can’t me turning the pages. The dual setting of Philadelphia and New Orleans Intensifies the story and adds to the plot. Add in all the keeping move in action, steamy romance, stubborn woman, dominant vampire, hot shifter and you get a damn fine book. Kade’s Dark Emraces was free at the time I downloaded and I also purchased the audio book to go along. The narration by Ryan West gave these wonderful characters another voice, that I did another layer of depth to the story. The story flows wonderfully, you were easily able to distinguish the characters voices and the story is delivered with passion

He’s finally come home, only to find that everything has changed

After ten years of riding with the Padre Knights MC, Alejandro Rojas has become the Vice President of the outlaw motorcycle club. When a club assignment takes him back to his hometown of Arroyo Flats, Alejandro finds himself reeling back in time, haunted by memories of a girl he lost a decade ago, memories of a love that could have been, and memories of broken promises made on the back of his bike.

Her life is about to be entwined fame and prestige when it suddenly comes crashing down.

Alaine Owens is engaged to Bobby Dawson, the son of a powerful South Texas politician. Yet she has never forgetten the boy to whom she gave her love–and herself–ten years ago, even if she still hasn’t forgiven him for his broken promise.

A second chance to mend a broken promise. But time is running out…

All Alejandro wants is to see Alaine again and fulfill the promise he made her ten years ago. Likewise, Alaine knows the danger of seeing Alejandro again after all these years. But the siren of love is calling the two souls home to each other. As their worlds collide once again in the flames of passion, Alaine and Alejandro are about to find that some promises are never meant to be broken, even if everything in the world–from the laws of the state to the unspoken social contracts of the South–seem hell-bent on it.

3.5 Stars

Alejandro and Ali had a summer fling a decade ago that left lasting memories and hurt carved into their souls. Even years passing, with all the hurt and suffering, and think the feeling have passed, they both realize the truth in surprise. Fast forward ten years and just the sighting of each other stirs those old feeling that never went away. Life has them on different sides of the fence. The pull may just be stronger than before.

A different take on biker romance. We see a very soft and tender biker grace the pages of Free Ride. Alejandro did not give off that alpha controlling vibe at all. Just the opposite, sweet, caring and tender man, just seeking to right a wrong and ask forgiveness. Ali is two steps shy of a hot mess. In a matter of a day she broke off and engagement to a man that is willing to do what it takes to please his father. To having the best thing/worst nightmare she walked back into her life. Making her question what she truly wants in life.

The unexpected soft introduction to this MC series was a pleasant change. There was no Alpha dominance, but a lot of sweet passionate and rekindling of a friendship or maybe more. Short and sweet, Free Ride will catch with it’s tenderness and keep you reading on the hints of what’s to come. A good story and I look forward to seeing how it continues on.

Review: The Space Between by Kate Canterbary

The Walsh Series, Book 2

Some lines are meant to be crossed.

Patrick
That hair. That fucking hair. It was everywhere, always, and I wanted to tangle my fingers in those dark curls and pull. And that would be fine if she wasn’t my apprentice.

Andy Asani was nothing like I expected. She was exotic and scary-brilliant, and the slightest murmur from those lips sent hot, hungry lust swirling through my veins. Outside my siblings, she was the only person I could name who shared my obsession with preserving Boston’s crumbling buildings.

Andy
My wants were few: good eats, tall boots, hot yoga, interesting work. One incredibly hot architect with the most expressive hazel eyes I ever encountered and entirely too much talent in and out of the bedroom wasn’t part of the original plan. Apparently he was part of the package.

Wine was my rabbi and vodka was my therapist, and I needed plenty of both to survive my apprenticeship. Especially with Patrick Walsh leaving love notes in the form of bite marks all over my body.

Kate Canterbary continues steam up the kindle with the Walshs in The Space Between.

Andy is not your average girl. She’s a bit of a Geek. Beyond smart and willing to step up to the plate to get what she wants. She has a dry humor and her me it took a bit for me to really get her personality. Independent, somewhat mysterious and maybe a bit hard headed, Andy is a bit hard to figure out but once you do your realize there is a depth to her. Having a Harry Potter related tattoos does give her points in my book.

Patrick caught my eye when we first meet him in Underneath It All. Patrick is a take no crap and get the job done kind of guy. He’s the eldest of the Walsh family, a workaholic and damn good at what he does. A man who’s in control until a geeky intern cracks his foundation. Shedding some of the tough outer layers we realize the Patrick is really a funny guy with a great heart. The comical drunk texting and that dirty talking mouth on him show a side of Patrick that I would’ve never guessed was there. I liked him before I knew his story. I like him even more now.

Intense and funny. We dive deeper into the Walsh family, while seeing two head strong people fall bat shit crazy for each other. Attraction and chemistry are in abundance for Patrick and Andy, there personalities work for each other even if the stubbornness get in the way at times. They are overwhelmingly sexy together. Just read. We get more insight into the Walsh family history and learn more the dynamics behind the personalities of this intense family. Kate Canterbary is winner my heart with the Walsh family.

I received a complementary title of this book from the author/publisher for an honest review. Receiving a complementary copy does not affect the outcome of this review.
