Her first award-winning historical romance, A Time for Everything, was published in July 2015. Mysti’s other romantic tales include The Roche Hotel romantic comedy series and contemporary novellas co-written with author MJ Post. Her short writings have appeared in the anthologies Hearts of Tomorrow, Christmas Lites, Christmas Lites II, Christmas Lites IV, The Darwin Murders, Tasteful Murders and EveryDayFiction.

No Place Like Home is so much more than a paranormal read. The feel of this book go from steam punk, with some touches of historical, mixing a taste of Sci-Fi, containing fantasy world building in one romance book. Was this intentional or how the story developed?
Kinda both actually. I’d gotten into enjoying steampunk from authors like Ren Garcia and Zoe Archer between the last book and this one, so I challenged myself to add some steampunk elements. I think the diehard “punks” would call those elements clockwork with all of Lysander’s gears and gadgets, but that was fun and it did develop into more than I first thought it would.
Lysander character development and evolution is as amazing, as the fierce creature he becomes. What surprised you the most about him through his journey?
Probably the most surprising aspect of his development was how he became what he is, because originally I had a very different beginning for him. Then I had a contest where I asked readers to come up with a new villain’s name for the book. Harker Stone was the winning name, but he needed a really strong role to support the female villain, who is undoubtedly one very disturbed woman. So, his and Lysander’s stories became intertwined, and Harker became the one responsible for Lysander’s transformation. It ended up being a much better idea than the original plan!
The under water scenes were some of my favorite totally unexpected surprises of No Place Like Home. From the writers point of view, what was your favorite scene to write?
I’m glad you enjoyed those! They were some of my favorite scenes as well. The mer-people actually came about because of a challenge issued by author Tori L. Ridgewood. While promoting Hearts in Exile (book 3) I posed the question: What fantasy creature or type of character would you like to see in the next Tallenmere novel? Tori challenged me to write a mermaid into the next book. So I took her up on it with “Ladyfish,” who you meet early in the story. Ladyfish’s story grew into quite a tale (heehee) with a whole new race and underwater city of Ustamer that intersects quite swimmingly (I’m full of puns) with Lysander and Mira’s story. It really stretched my creative side, writing yet another new realm in Tallenmere. I can’t wait to take readers along with me to discover more!

1) Deodorant. Not for you—for them. Guys are gross, and after a few weeks on tour, they forget that everyone on the bus with them still needs to breathe.
2) Ear plugs. This one is important, especially if your bass guitarist just so happens to snore like a grizzly bear with two smaller grizzlies shoved up its nose.
3) Sweets. Trust me, you’re going to need the sugar. Just make sure to hide them where none of your bandmates will find them—like in a tampon box or in a makeup kit.
4) A change of clothes for every type of weather. It might be kind of chilly in Virginia, but it is not going to be kind of chilly in Florida. I learned this one the hard way a couple years ago.

“Kit,” Kale complains, and I stop walking. At the top of the stairs, I turn and face him.
“Kale, you know this is what I want to do with my life. I’ve wanted to be in a big-name band since middle school. And Shawn is an amazing guitarist. And so is Joel. And Adam is an amazing singer, and Mike is an amazing drummer . . . This is my chance to be amazing. Can’t you just be supportive?”
My twin braces his hands on my shoulders, and I have to wonder if it’s to comfort me or because he’s considering pushing me down the stairs. “You know I support you,” he says. “Just . . .” He twists his lip between his teeth, chewing it cherry red before releasing it. “Do you have to be amazing with him? He’s an asshole.”
It’s not like I can’t understand why Kale is worried. He knew how much I liked Shawn before that party, and that night, he squeezed every last detail out of me. He knew I gave Shawn my virginity, so he knew why I cried myself to sleep for the next few weeks when Shawn never called.
“Maybe he’s a different person now,” I reason, but Kale’s dark eyes remain skeptical as ever.
“Maybe he’s not.”
“Even if he isn’t, I’m a different person now. I’m not the same nerd I was in high school.”
I start down the stairs, but Kale stays on my heels, yapping at me like a nippy dog. “You’re wearing the same boots.”
“These boots are killer,” I say—which should be obvious, but apparently needs to be said.
“Just do me a favor?”
At the front door, I turn around and begin backing onto the porch. “What favor?”
“If he hurts you again, use those boots to get revenge where it counts.”
I laugh and take a big step forward to squeeze my brother in a hug. “Promise. Love you, Kale. I’ll call you when it’s over.”
With a big sigh, he hugs me back. And then he lets me go.

I live on a grain farm southeast of Indianapolis, Indiana with my very patient husband of twenty-five years and our two English Mastiffs, Buster Brown and Ginger. I graduated from Indiana University when it was the #1 party school in the country and I took great pride in helping the school achieve that ranking.
I haven’t figured out what I want to be when I grow up. I change careers every decade. I have worked in retail, a federal courtroom, travelled across the state closing loans, and behind the scenes in a casino.
I’ve always had an active imagination so when a good friend suggested that I try writing a book, I thought why not, it should be fun. It has, but I have had to work very hard to learn how to do it. I am so lucky for the outpouring of advice and education from so many in the industry, plus the hand-holding and cheerleading from My Gurls. I also have an incredible Ad-man-istrative Assistant, who tries to keep me under control. He rolls his eyes so much that I worry about a permanent condition.
When I ‘m not working or writing type stuff, I sleep, watch courtroom TV shows, and sports. I was a competitive pro-am ballroom dancer for ten years and I read as many books as I can.

“That so?” he asked, leaning down so that we were almost nose to nose.
“That’s so, baby.” I play-punched him in the shoulder, which it should be noted, I barely came up to. Okay, so maybe the alcohol on a mostly empty stomach had made me slightly/lots braver/sillier. “So why don’t you take your little caveman jealous tantrum bullshit somewhere else. See, I do this funny thing I like to refer to as whatever the fuck I want. Understand?”
He just stared.
“And as pretty as you are with your beard and your muscles, you are too damn tricky and . . . complicated and shit for me.”
“I am?”
“Yes, you are. Are you finally seeing my point here?”
“You bet.”
“Excellent. So take your hotness elsewhere, kind sir. I want no part of it!” Huh. I had so told him. Drunken bravado was the best.

Kylie Scott rocked my reading world with Deep.
The thing when I read a final book in a series it always a love/hate moment. The Stage Dive series has captivated me in many ways from first book to last. Ben and Lizzy’s story is one that is very close to home. Making Deep a very emotional read for me. Also making Deep my favorite book of the Stage Dive Series
Ben is the mystery of the band. The quiet one. Hes a go with the flow, never committing to anything but music kind of guy. Bens as sexy as the bass he plays. That flippin hair and beard just get to a girl. He’s an asshat, living his Rock and Roll fantasy, not knowing a damn good thing when he’s had it right in front of him.
Lizzy flippin rocks! Lizzy went all in when in came to Ben. She knew what she was getting herself into. Always hoping, trying not to hurt, needing and wanting. A strong woman who who fell for the bad boy rockstar. Every woman has something that makes her weak in the knees. Hers is Ben!
Ben and Lizzy’s story takes snark and banter to a new best. The way these two go at each other made me both laugh and want to cry. An emotional and funny story, fill with sexual tension, out of control feelings and trying to make it all work. Add in the Rock and Roll life on the road, you get the best Stage Dive novel of the series. I was hanging on the edge of my seat while Ben and Lizzy dance around their HEA! The Stage Dive series is one I will read again and again.
