(Tallenmere #4)

Mysti Parker

Release Date: Oct. 24

eBook Length: 277 pages

Publisher: Melange Books

An irreversible curse, an impossible mission. Can she catch The Tyger before it’s too late?

Set in the fantasy world of Tallenmere, this story continues the saga of this tumultuous era with Mirabelle Hearton, who played a supporting role in Hearts in Exile (Book #3). It’s also the beginning of a new turn in the series called Tallenmere Unleashed. Starting here, each book is more intense, more graphic, and much hotter than its predecessors. This is not a book for youngsters or those who enjoy light romance. You’ve been warned!

In Port Valor, it’s dangerous to be different. Especially for sixteen-year-old Mirabelle Hearton, whose psychic abilities could put her entire family in danger. To protect them, she left the city and her childhood sweetheart, Lysander Devlin, behind to live a life of servitude in Leogard’s Temple. Ten years later, someone discovered her mind-bending talents and forced her to send an innocent woman into exile.  As punishment for her crimes, she must return to Port Valor to seek out a dangerous mercenary called The Tyger. He’s already threatened the lives of her family and is rumored to have killed countless others for the right price.

Mirabelle’s time is running out. She has two months to bring the Tyger to justice or succumb to an excruciating death from an irreversible curse. As frightening as her mission is, facing Lysander again may be the greatest challenge of her life. Despite their difficult reunion, she and Lysander must band together to face an evil force that could sap the very souls from everyone they love. Mirabelle must also make a choice—catch The Tyger and redeem her sins, or give into feelings long buried and risk losing everything.

Thank you very much to Mysti Parker for stopping by and answering some of my crazy, want to know question.

No Place Like Home was a equine romance read.  Ms. Parker is giving away the first 3 book of her Tallenmere Series.

Follow the link after the Q&A!

No Place Like Home is so much more than a paranormal read. The feel of this book go from steam punk, with some touches of historical, mixing a taste of Sci-Fi, containing fantasy world building in one romance book. Was this intentional or how the story developed?

Kinda both actually. I’d gotten into enjoying steampunk from authors like Ren Garcia and Zoe Archer between the last book and this one, so I challenged myself to add some steampunk elements. I think the diehard “punks” would call those elements clockwork with all of Lysander’s gears and gadgets, but that was fun and it did develop into more than I first thought it would.

Lysander character development and evolution is as amazing, as the fierce creature he becomes. What surprised you the most about him through his journey?

Probably the most surprising aspect of his development was how he became what he is, because originally I had a very different beginning for him. Then I had a contest where I asked readers to come up with a new villain’s name for the book. Harker Stone was the winning name, but he needed a really strong role to support the female villain, who is undoubtedly one very disturbed woman. So, his and Lysander’s stories became intertwined, and Harker became the one responsible for Lysander’s transformation. It ended up being a much better idea than the original plan!

The under water scenes were some of my favorite totally unexpected surprises of No Place Like Home. From the writers point of view, what was your favorite scene to write?

I’m glad you enjoyed those! They were some of my favorite scenes as well. The mer-people actually came about because of a challenge issued by author Tori L. Ridgewood. While promoting Hearts in Exile (book 3) I posed the question: What fantasy creature or type of character would you like to see in the next Tallenmere novel? Tori challenged me to write a mermaid into the next book. So I took her up on it with “Ladyfish,” who you meet early in the story. Ladyfish’s story grew into quite a tale (heehee) with a whole new race and underwater city of Ustamer that intersects quite swimmingly (I’m full of puns) with Lysander and Mira’s story. It really stretched my creative side, writing yet another new realm in Tallenmere. I can’t wait to take readers along with me to discover more!

Halloween in Atlantis by Alyssa Day! Q&A with Giveaway!

HalloweenInAtlantisTourBanner2

NYT Bestselling Author Alyssa Day has a Halloween “treat” for fans of her The Warriors of Poseidon series. HALLOWEEN IN ATLANTIS, a novelette addition to the series, releases on October 29th!

HalloweenInAtlantis_AlyssaDay_finalNow that Atlantis has finally risen to take its place on the world stage, the Atlantean warriors are having to face some new and interesting dangers — like Halloween parties.

Arrogant warrior Liam doesn’t understand the beautiful, bubbly human whose entire function in life appears to be to plan parties, but he can’t seem to keep away from her, either. Jamie, who considers herself to be completely unflappable–the hallmark of a great event planner–doesn’t understand why the far-too-serious Atlantean manages to get under her skin with every single encounter. Even if he is the sexiest man she has ever seen.

When the two of them are thrown together to solve a mystery surrounding the queen’s missing jewels, sparks fly, secrets are revealed, and Halloween has never been hotter.

This novelette (longer than a short story, shorter than a novella) is perfect for reading on a coffee break – or in between handing out candy to trick-or treaters.

Check your favorite online retailer for HALLOWEEN IN ATLANTIS, releasing October 29th.

Alyssa Day is the pen name (and dark and tortured alter ego) of RITA award-winning author Alesia Holliday. Q & A

With this being a Halloween release I thought it would be fun to ask Alyssa some fun Halloween related questions!

Question one:

If you were able to take over the lead female character of a vampire movie, who would it be?

AD-The wife in Dracula Untold.  Because Luke Evans is totally hot and I would have been a lot tougher and made sure I stuck around!!

Question two:

Two part question. First part, what was your favorite thing to dress up as for trick-or-treating? Part two, what are you dressing up as for this Halloween?

AD-I was the Evil Tooth Fairy one year at a party I hosted.  I flew around decaying kids’ teeth. It was awesome. But that ties with last year, when I was the TARDIS.  This year, I want to be Maleficent!

Question three:

You’re stuck in a haunted house overnight, who are the other three people you have going in that scary house with you and why?

AD-My daughter, she loves watching haunted house stuff on TV.  My husband, Navy Guy, because he’s laugh at it all.  And my pug, Daisy, because nothing is scary when there’s a pug around.

Question four:

What is your favorite kind of candy?

AD-I don’t understand the question.  There’s a kind of candy that’s NOT my favorite?

Thank you so much Alyssa for having some Halloween fun with us today.
