ARC Review: Inked Memories by Carrie Ann Ryan
Inked Memories
Carrie Ann Ryan
Montgomery Ink Series, Book 8
The Montgomery Ink series by NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues when the final Denver Montgomery sibling refuses to fall for his brother’s former flame—the company’s new plumber.
Wes Montgomery watched his entire family fall in love, and now finds himself ready to settle down. Except the one person he seems to find chemistry with is not only his twin’s ex, she also works for Montgomery Inc. But when the two find themselves in one compromising situation after another, Wes realizes he’s having second thoughts about the dynamic woman who’s burst her way into his life. Sure she sets off his temper, but she also makes him hot in every other way possible.
Jillian Reid never loved her best friend like everyone thought she should, so she pushed him away so he could have his future. Now, despite fighting it, she finds herself attracted to the one man she shouldn’t. When her father’s health takes a turn for the worse, and a danger no one saw coming show its face, she’s forced to turn to Wes for help. The two of them have fought off their attraction long enough, and each cave to the desire. But this enemies-to-lovers tale might have an ending no one ever dreamed of.
4 Stars
Wes is the fixer of the Montgomery family. As his siblings have pair off, his fixing is need so much and I believe has become a bit lonely. Wes is an amazing man, a loyal friend and the best type of brother.
Jillian is a hands down, kick butt woman. Amazing at her craft, sassy and snarky to the core. Quick witted she can give as good as she gets. Jillian is devoted and beyond caring to those she loves.
The final chapter of the Denver Montgomery’s is upon reader and I have to say it was such an emotional read for me. It hit home on so many levels I had to read Inked Memories twice to capture the entire story. Wes and Jillian was a surprise pairing, I thought. You could see the tension coming off the two of them anytime they were together. The banter was spot on. I loved how Wes and Jillian drove each other crazy. Purposefully and no so. Theirs was a slow burn to romance, as we see a lot of individual time with both Wes and Jillian. They proved to each other, the preconceived ideas they had of one were very far from the truth. Catching two people off guard and giving them something more.
Emotional is an understatement for Inked Memories. Get the tissues ready. I have been with the Montgomery clan from the beginning. With Inked Memories hitting so very close to home with me, this story holds a special place in my heart. Family is who you make it and not just blood, the Montgomery’s proved that time and time again. The stories of the Denver part of the family maybe finished but Ms. Ryan opened the door of the Montgomery clan.
