As a laid-back cyber-specialist who once assisted guardian angels, he’d been in a prime position to earn back his halo. The underworld is shaken up……
Cipher has had a roller coaster ride for a life over the last year. Once an Angel, then Unfallen and now Cipher is a True Fallen. He fight for his sanity, sense of self and to keep informed a secret as long as possible. Cipher’s capture and constant torture tests his ability to keep the evil at bay and the loyalty to his friends tight lipped. Ciphers strength, loyalty and his ability to do crazy things with a computers is remarkable. He’s a very interesting character who grows, adapts and embraces the new abilities he’s been given while fighting for his life and the underworld.
Lyre is a True Fallen by choice. Her need for revenge against the ones who cost her her wings and place in heaven is her main purpose in life. Lyre works for Bael thinking it will be the way she gets her revenge. Her task is to be Ciphers handler. To extract information that they know Cipher holds. Somewhere in her task with Cipher, the scale tips and revenge is not the most important thing on Lyres mind. What I loved about Lyre, even with her making the choice to be a true Fallen her sense of right and wrong still stands strong, even though it was missguided for awhile.
There is nothing like a trip to the underworld to heat things up. Cipher, the latest installment of Larissa Ione’s Demonica Underworld Series, does just that and more. A sinister plot is in a place to shake up not only below but above is on the radar as well. Cipher is the biggest cyber threat from all the realms. Lyre is a woman on a mission for venageance. The two of them together cause shockwaves that I’m sure Heaven could feel. A fast paced story with twists, trues, a demonic spell or two and a few really messed up plays. I love every second of the story. At the beginning of this extraordinary tale I would have never guessed that Cipher and Lyre would have ended the way do. The chemistry is intense, the passion is explosive and emotions shine through the depths of the underground. Ms. Ione’s Demonica world is a work of art and is always a favorite place to visit. Like Ms. Ione’s other works with in the series, Cipher is fantastic in every way.

ARC Review: At the Pleasure of the President by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake
At the Pleasure of the President

The Perfect Gentleman Series, Book 5
The thrilling conclusion of the twisting, page-turning Perfect Gentlemen series…
Decades ago, ambitious Zack Hayes set his sights on the White House. He’s worked his whole life to become the leader of the free world—attending the right schools, marrying the perfect bride—all to aid his campaign. He didn’t realize someone behind the scenes has been pulling the strings to manipulate Zack and the country he loves into a dangerous position—one he will risk his life to wrench free from. The one thing he can’t risk is Elizabeth Matthews.
From the moment she met Zack Hayes, Liz felt the connection. Serving as his campaign manager and then his press secretary, she accepted that her love for him would remain unrequited. Still, she’d thought they were friends, so when he pushed her aside, she felt the stab in her heart. And when she realizes he’s done it to protect her, nothing will stop Liz from standing by his side—not even the men who would use her as a weapon against him.
As shocking secrets are revealed, Zack and Liz find succor and passion in each other’s arms. When the ultimate villain shows his face, Zack may have to choose between his country and the woman he loves…

5 Stars
From jaw dropping suspense, to the hottest of passion, to a conspiracy that puts readers on the edge of their seats, Shayla Black and Lexi Blake deliver an epic conclusion to the Perfect Gentlemen Series with At the Pleasure of the President.
Zachary Hayes truly has the weight of the free world on his shoulders. Being President has it advantages and its disadvantages. For having the kind of power that he does, the one thing his heart desires is standing within an arms grasp and he can’t have her. Even though Zach is the President, he’s still a man. Hard headed and stubborn, with so much intensity and being as sexy as he is makes it hard for a woman to not go crazy. Zach’s heart is huge and he believes his Intentions are best but being who he is, in the predicament that he’s in, he allows birds of a feather to influence what the sensible decisions should really be. Zach is as smooth as the scotch he likes to indulge in. He knows how to get what he what and go for it. Even if he has to go a roundabout way to get it. There were so many moments that I felt so much for Zack and then I wanted to shake the crap out of him because he couldn’t seem to get his head and his heart together. In the end he made the right choice.
Elizabeth is a southern spit fire of a woman. Beauty and grace, yet she can stomp down anyone with charm and style. A woman who has stepped up beyond her job title, put her heart to the side, then on the line. Politic she can handle, the craziness that Zach’s life has thrown at her is making Liz’s head spin. Elizabeth made her mark from the moment she hit the page in the very first book of the Perfect Gentleman Series. She takes no crap, is not afraid to speak her mind and is just fun. I love the fact that she gives all these high-powered man a run for their money. Liz is a true sister in every sense of the word.
What an amazing book! At the Pleasure of the President answers all the lingering questions I had from the previous books in the series and gives not just one but two HEAs. The story is utterly twisted and wonderfully unique. The Perfect Gentleman Series is truly some amazing and creative writing. The series was able to captivate, entertain and make you think. Each book is a piece of a giant puzzle that you don’t even realize how invested you have become until you were reading the final chapters of the last book. The biggest props I can give to both Shayla and Lexi for creating a story so intricate and evolving while giving romance readers what they want in their reads. At the Pleasure of the President is not only a great book, it’s a highly intricate piece of art.
The Perfect Gentleman Series is one of the most intricate, captivating and intense plots I’ve every had the enjoyment of getting caught up in.

Review: I Want You Back by Lorelei James
I Want You Back
Lorelei James
Want You Back Series, Book 1
New York Times bestselling author Lorelei James kicks-off her Want You Series with a Lund family cousin hot enough to melt the ice and mend a broken heart.
Former NHL star Jaxson Lund has returned to the Twin Cities, but he’s at loose ends, unsure if he belongs at Lund Industries, or where he stands with Lucy, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Mimi. Despite the signs she’d like to leave him in the penalty box, the attraction burning between them reinforces his determination to prove that he deserves a second chance…
Lucy Quade is in a good place with a steady job, a nice apartment, and a well-adjusted daughter, which is why she’s hesitant when Jax insists on co-parenting. It’s not that Lucy doesn’t trust Jax…she’s just unconvinced he can handle multiple responsibilities when he’s been singularly focused on playing hockey. But when issues arise with Mimi, Lucy’s shocked at how levelheaded and paternal he acts, giving her a glimpse of the Jax she used to know, the sexy, sweet man she fell for years ago.
Once Lucy lets her guard down, Jax goes all in to show her how good they are together, but will their past remain too large an obstacle to ever overcome?

5 Stars
Ms. Lorelei James rocked my reading world hard with I Want You Back. In a world created within written pages, Ms. James takes a fantasy like situation, enriches it with real life trials, temptations and events giving this reader her first 5 star read of the year.
Jaxson Ludd had everything any man could want. The beautiful woman at his side, the angel of a daughter, a family that loves and supports him and a career that he loves. Jaxson tossed a good bit of that out the window when his fame and excess became more important than his real life. Jaxson hit rock bottom, paid a price, got help with his addiction and is back. Ready to make amends, right some wrongs and be the man he should have been before.
Lucy Quade’s life has been shaken up once again. Basically easing her daughter as a single parent. Now with the ex back, and to stay, he’s found a way to insert himself into her everyday life. While happy that her daughter has her father in her life on a more regular basis, the emotional turmoil, both good and bad, that man creates within her, makes Lucy crazy. He all but broke her, yet he creates so much for and within her, she can hardly see straight.
There are so many things I loved about I Want You Back. Two people who came together to learn to be good parents for their child. Jaxson and Lucy are an amazing couple who worked painstaking hard to get themselves where they wanted to be. The baggage these two carry would cost a good portion of Jax’s fortune to fly. The characters are complex with layers that have layers. They grow personality and together throughout the story. I loved Jaxson stepping up to be a real father, not just the fun dad who gives and gives. While Jax royalty messed things up, Lucy was not without fault and she owned up to it. The way Ms. James places the flashbacks of the story are seamless and comes off like a daydream. While giving wonderful insight to the characters and story. I adore the solid family bonds and connections. Which if you have read Ms. James you will know is one of the pieces of the foundation of her stories.
I Want You Back is an emotional, eye opening and thought provoking read. Jaxson and Lucy will break your heart, put it back together all while dancing a slow dance of attraction and chemistry, remembering the past while trying to have a future. Ms. James gave me everything I needed, wanted and more.
Disclaimer- I’m not a sports fan in any, way, shape or form. Actually hate sports is a description for what I feel about sports. Hockey plays a huge part of I Want You Back and yet not enough to outright over power the story. There was a particular blow off some steam skating session that turned into a very humorous scene that I very much enjoyed.

Review: Misadventures With My Ex by Shayla Black
Misadventures With My Ex
Shayla Black
Misadventures Series
Once, Eryn Hope fell fast and incurably for Weston Quaid. And he seemed to adore her too—until she learned their love was built on lies when he walked out on their wedding day.
Three years later, West has finally won control of his family empire and fortune, but it cost him Eryn—something he regrets every day. When business forces him to return to her life and temporarily shut down her livelihood, of course she’s furious. But their chemistry is still beyond combustible. So he makes her a proposition: he’ll take care of her until her bistro reopens…if she becomes his mistress. Her mind screams no, but her body whimpers yes, yes, yes.
As soon as West has her back in his bed, their passion burns hotter than ever. So do his feelings. But can he and Eryn really recapture the love they shared? And when their bargain ends, will he be the one shattered this time or will they finally come together forever?
***Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.***

4 Stars
Eryn was head over heels for Weston. A man who swept her off her feel, made her feel and was ready to spend the
rest of her life him. That is until he didn’t show up for the wedding. No call, no note, no explanation. Eryn picks up the
pieces of what should have been her happily ever after and opens her own business. She tries to move on but something
about Weston, has him stuck in her heart, even though he broke it.
Weston comes from one of those power businesses family’s. When he finds love in a place his mother doesn’t
approve, Weston tries to make it work but in the end he gives up love for family politics. Or does he? Three
years has past and nothing has changed his feelings for Eryn one bit, but convincing the woman of his heart
will be a whole other story.
Shayla Black gives readers another hot and sexy read with Misadventures With My Ex. Second chance stories
are some of my favorites. Eryn and Weston are amazing together. Being such different people, they give a balance
to each other in subtle ways that intern make them each a better person. They have chemistry and attraction, but
discovering the truths of the past they learn that honestly and trust are they only way they will work. Never falling out
of love with your ex, can have it rewards.

ARC Review: Ashes to Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan
Ashes To Ink
Carrie Ann Ryan
1001 Dark Nights
Montgomery Ink Colorado Springs, Book 2.5
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan comes a new story in her Montgomery Ink series…
Back in Denver, Abby lost everything she ever loved, except for her daughter, the one memory she has left of the man she loved and lost. Now, she’s moved next to the Montgomerys in Colorado Springs, leaving her past behind to start her new life.
One step at a time.

Abby and Ryan thought they had their own paths, ones that had nothing to do with one another. Then…they took a chance.
On each other.
One night at a time.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

4 Stars
A sweet and quick read packed with emotion and a bit of drama.
Abby lost the love of her life as their family was beginning. Her heart was breaking and mending all at the same time. The Montgomery’s help give Abby the push she needed to pick up and start living again. True living not just for her daughter. Abby opens Teas’d in Colorado Springs and her personality and passion begin to blossom. Abby is so sweet and caring. While she may appear a bit mousy at the surface, girl has got some spunk behind her. Abby is that loyal friend you know you can count on.
Ryan is one of those men whose looks don’t define their personality. Tattooed and bearded, a bit burly and built by a god. Yet Ryan is attentive, gentle and giving. The man even likes peppermint tea and is talented in more than his art. Lol. Ryan is the best of men but sadly he waits knowingly the black cloud of his life is bound to show and spoil the good in his life.
I very much enjoyed Abby and Ryan’s story. Both Ryan and Abby are trying to overcome and move on. Different sides of the same coin. Hurt and loss can be eased with time, patients and being surrounded by people who are genuine and true. Abby and Ryan find more than passion and chemistry through their attraction. They each other a piece of mind that didn’t have or understand. Their fiery passion created something worth wanting, worth taking the time for. A quick read that gives all the feels!!

Review: From Breath to Ruin by Carrie Ann Ryan
From Breath to Ruin
Carrie Ann Ryan
Elementals of Five series, Book 1
Published: March 19, 2019
In her YA debut, New York Times bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan dives into a world with magic and sacrifice with the Elements of Five.
Five hundred years ago, the Maison Realm was shattered, divided into warring kingdoms of elemental Wielders with fate and truth shadowed and uncertain. Now, factions of both the light and dark venture into the human realm in search of the prophesied Spirit Priestess who is said to Wield the Elements of Five to bring the two fractured kingdoms together.
Lyric has no idea that there’s a realm outside the human one she lives in. When fate and circumstances are pulled from her hands after an accident, she finds out that nothing is as it seems.
War is raging around her, and when Lyric realizes that they are searching for her, she must rely on those she once trusted as she trains: a boy who isn’t who she thought, and a new realm of warriors who have come to protect her.
For the darkness is coming, and the Queen of Obscurité wants to ensure that the King of Lumière can’t get his hands on Lyric. And the only way to ensure that is if Lyric herself is no more…no matter the cost to prophecy.

4 Stars
Carrie Ann Ryan dips her toes in the realm of YA Fantasy with the exciting, From Breath and Ruin.
From Breath to Ruin opens a new world of layered complexities, magic and mayhem. First I must say that world building in a paranormal story/series is a must for me. The scene and atmosphere in a paranormal is just as important as the characters and creatures that we discover within story. Ms. Ryan crafted this exciting new world with style, mystery and a touch that is all her own. A world that as I read, became familiar and more of a mystery all in one. In my opinion that is an excellent sign of world building.
Lyric thought she was a normal eighteen year old young lady. Normal everyday worries like boys and school. Feeling the pressures of making the right choice. Trying to find the place where she fit in. Until an accident, has Lyric seeing things differently. Realizing that her nightmares are in fact reality. Shaking the very foundation of everything she knows.
From Breath and Ruin is a multi layered, coming of age and magical story. I’m not a huge fan of YA novels, however I’ve been a loyal fan of Ms. Ryan for many years now. While I was hesitate to read From Breath to Ruin because of the YA factor and I’m glad to say, but shouldn’t be surprised, I did enjoy the read more than I believed I would. The world building is spot on, the characters developed more depth throughout the story and the magical elements were just that magical.
A nice beginning to what is looking to be a series that is going to bring many surprises.

Whiskey Reveals
Carrie Ann Ryan
Whiskey and Lies Series, Book 2
One whiskey-saturated night turns into something far more in the second standalone installment of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.
Fox Collins likes his life just the way it is. His siblings are falling in love all around him, but he’d much rather focus on his next story than on a serious relationship. However, when his latest one-night stand returns to Whiskey—this time for good—he’ll need to learn to trust his instincts to figure out if he can live without her in his life.
Former dancer Melody Waters is finally ready to settle down in her grandmother’s small Pennsylvania hometown. Bad decisions and fateful nights have changed her path more than once, but now she’s focused on one thing: opening her new own dance studio. But fate is a funny thing, and once again, she’ll be forced to learn that actions have consequences and some repercussions can not only change your life forever, they can also come back to haunt you…one broken promise at a time

4 Stars
Fox won me over from his first appearance on the page. He’s a dedicated, hard-working and extremely loyal man. He’s got those alpha tendencies that I tend to love in my heroes, but he also knows how to be a gentle, caring and extremely sensual man. I also can’t forget mention that Fox is pretty high up on my hotness scale. Fox’s personality and attitude make him a very like man.
Melody has talent, drive and a touch of sass that puts her in a class that’s all her own. She starting a new chapter of her life, in a small town while still trying to heal from the consequences of bad choices. Melody has those dreamer tendencies and a caring nature that make her the wonderful person she is.
Whiskey may have been the catalyst, but chemistry and connection always get you in the end. Fox and Melody shared night of whiskey fueled passion that left way more than a hangover the next morning. Leaving two people with a longing of something or should I say someone more in their lives. Fox and Melody dance around the feelings they share giving readers a sweet, sensual tale of love that heats up pretty quickly.
Whiskey Reveals is low on the drama and all about the feels. I really enjoyed the connection between Melody and Fox. The way that Melody revealed her secrets and the way Fox receives and reacts is worth the story alone.
Whiskey Reveals is entertaining, sweet and hot. The perfect combination in a romance.

Review: His To Protect by Carly Philips
His To Protect
Carly Philips
Masters and Mercenaries Crossover Collection
Bodyguard Bad Boys Series, Book 2.5
Talia Shaw has spent her adult life working as a scientist for a big pharmaceutical company. She’s focused on saving lives, not living life. When her lab is broken into and it’s clear someone is after the top secret formula she’s working on, she turns to the one man she can trust. The same irresistible man she turned away years earlier because she was too young and naive to believe a sexy guy like Shane Landon could want her.
Shane Landon’s bodyguard work for McKay-Taggart is the one thing that brings him satisfaction in his life. Relationships come in second to the job. Always. Then little brainiac Talia Shaw shows up in his backyard, frightened and on the run, and his world is turned upside down. And not just because she’s found him naked in his outdoor shower, either.
With Talia’s life in danger, Shane has to get her out of town and to her eccentric, hermit mentor who has the final piece of the formula she’s been working on, while keeping her safe from the men who are after her. Guarding Talia’s body certainly isn’t any hardship, but he never expects to fall hard and fast for his best friend’s little sister and the only woman who’s ever really gotten under his skin.

4.5 Stars
Carly Phillips’ His To Protect starts my reading of the Masters and Mercenaries crossover series with a bang. I really enjoy this quick read. Deception, suspense and a lot of super hot moments.
Talia and Shane made it memorable read from the moment they meet again. I will look at outdoor showers differently now. Lol. Their chemistry is natural and intense. The reader can easily feel the connection that Shane and Talia have coming off the pages. For a quick read Ms. Philips spares the readers nothing with it comes to His to Protect. We get the heat, the suspense and totally enjoyable story.

Review: Justify Me by J Kenner

Justify Me
J. Kenner
Masters and Mercenaries Crossover Collection
Stark International Trilogy Series, Book 4.5
McKay-Taggart operative Riley Blade has no intention of returning to Los Angeles after his brief stint as a consultant on mega-star Lyle Tarpin’s latest action flick. Not even for Natasha Black, Tarpin’s sexy personal assistant who’d gotten under his skin. Why would he, when Tasha made it absolutely clear that—attraction or not—she wasn’t interested in a fling, much less a relationship.
But when Riley learns that someone is stalking her, he races to her side. Determined to not only protect her, but to convince her that—no matter what has hurt her in the past—he’s not only going to fight for her, he’s going to win her heart. Forever.

4 Stars
I adore J. Kenner’s Stark Trilogy series and add in the Masters and Mercenaries crossover, that makes Justify Me one awesome read.
There is nothing like when our main characters have a history that makes getting to the romance side of things that much sweeter. Riley and Natasha were a fun couple. The chemistry and connection were amazing believable and very hot. The touches of BDSM were done well and with class. The characters are very well written and make themselves known . The plot is engaging and keeps the reader turning the pages. The suspense will keep you on the edge.
